Barr’s Testimony is Proof that Crime Lord Trump Corrupts the Justice Department and Infects the Senate, Transcripts Provided

“Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.” – Theodore Roosevelt, Republican President

Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary hearing was further proof that Crime Lord Trump Corrupts the Justice Department and Infects the Senate.  The Senate Judiciary hearing can now be referred to as the season 3, mid-season premiere of Trump-land. Unfortunately, the game-show-TV-president will not be happy with the results or the ratings.  But, like last Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones, it did not disappoint.  However, if you look at the Senate hearing in the context of today’s modern zombie movies, you may consider the opening remarks of Republican Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham to be a possible opening scene for the upcoming, long-awaited sequel to World War Z.  Surprisingly, the end results of the hearing were more like that of a Game of Thrones ending.  By the end of the day, the torn and dismembered body of Attorney General William Barr was left dead on the battlefield with crows picking at his eyeballs.  Score a big victory was Daenerys “Storm Born” Targaryen portrayed by Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii who set the tone of the battle.  Faceless Man Arya Stark played by California Senator Kamala Harris delivered the fatal blow when like the mythical warrior princess, she cut Barr’s throat with her Valyrian steel dagger leaving Barr slumped over with a look of agony and dismay when he could not answer her questions.  Stay tuned, there is more to come and the transcripts of the hearing, courtesy of CNN, are included with this article.

Season three’s mid-season premiere of Trump-land kicked off with a bang featuring graphic and vulgar language by the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee as he read excerpts from text messages of former FBI Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Peter Strzok.  Without regard for decency, sensitivity for the American public, FCC regulations or children that may have been watching the proceedings at home or in their social studies classrooms, in an attempt to colour the Mueller investigation as a politically motivated attack on so-called-president Trump, Lindsey Graham reading the excerpts shouted out “Trump is a fucking idiot!”  Such conduct has never before been seen in the halls of Congress or on national television.

This utterly shameless display is only further proof that Trump’s Republican Minions (trumpions) have obviously been infected with trumpoid fever.  Like its close cousin typhoid fever, the disease is spread by people practicing unsanitary conditions.  Unlike Mary Mallon who came to be known as Typhoid Mary for unknowingly spreading typhoid fever, the filth that was spewed from trumpion Lindsey Grahams mouth was a well thought out, calculated and planned attempt to infect the rest of America with the madness of trumpoid fever thus accelerating America’s demise into Trump-land. Perhaps like Typhoid Mary, Graham should now be called Trumpoid Lindsey.

Irish Cook, Mary Mallon aka Typhoid Mary

Typhoid fever is a serious disease spread by contaminated food and water.  Symptoms of typhoid include lasting high fevers, weakness, stomach pains, headache, and loss of appetite.  Trumpoid fever is an even more serious disease which is spread by a contaminated mouth and causes a fever of the brain resulting in madness, loss of integrity, patriotism, all morality, hatred of one’s fellow man, and unintelligible gibberish while grasping for speech.  And, in some cases a dangerous rage resembling that of rabies is present.  Trumpoid fever victims often attend political rallies and leave in heightened states like the rage zombies in the hit 2013 movie starring Brad Pitt, World War Z.  The American lexicon may even have to be expanded to include a name that describes sufferers of trumpoid fever, trumpies.  Unlike treating the epidemic in World War Z, finding patient zero will not yield a cure.  More drastic measures may be needed to control this epidemic and save humanity.

The shameful unprecedented display by Trumpoid Lindsey by far was the lowest point in American politics.  And like faithful minions, the rest of the Republicans on the committee competed but were unsuccessful in their attempt to out-do their Committee Chairman.  Not one of them had yet been infected with trumpoid fever to the degree of Lindsey Graham. But they continued to try with calls for opening new investigations into Hilary Clinton, attacks on their Democratic colleagues and baseless attempts to protect or glorify Barr.  But, to no avail.  It was obvious that Barr’s character having been weakened by trumpoid fever was not strong enough to endure the consequences of his own actions.  He created the events that were set in motion by his attempts to protect his lord and master, the evil Crime Lord Donald Trump.

Attorney General William Barr

So the carnage began as the Democrats with all respect for the Institution of the Senate and the American people with dignity and decorum began their interrogation of Attorney General William Barr.  This interrogation is their right as mandated by their constitutional responsibility to oversee the Executive Branch and all of its departments and department heads, including Barr. Here is the transcript of Barr’s opening prepared statement.

Attorney General William Barr's prepared testimony on Mueller report before Senate committee -

What is of particular interest in the so-called Attorney General’s opening statement can be found on page 3, paragraph 6 to page 4, paragraph 3 which deals with his declaration that Trump did not commit obstruction-of-justice:

“In Volume II of the report, the Special Counsel considered whether certain actions of the President could amount to obstruction of justice. The Special Counsel decided not to reach a conclusion, however, about whether the President committed an obstruction offense. Instead, the report recounts ten episodes and discusses potential legal theories for connecting the President’s actions to the elements of an obstruction offense. After carefully reviewing the facts and legal theories outlined in the report, and in consultation with the Office of Legal Counsel and other Department lawyers, the Deputy Attorney General and I concluded that, under the principles of federal prosecution, the evidence developed by the Special Counsel would not be sufficient to charge the President with an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

“The Deputy Attorney General and I knew that we had to make this assessment because, as I previously explained, the prosecutorial judgment whether a crime has been established is an integral part of the Department’s criminal process. The Special Counsel regulations provide for the report to remain confidential. Given the extraordinary public interest in this investigation, however, I determined that it was necessary to make as much of it public as I could and committed the Department to being as transparent as possible. But it would not have been appropriate for me simply to release Volume II of the report without making a prosecutorial judgment.”

“The Deputy Attorney General and I therefore conducted a careful review of the report, looking at the facts found and the legal theories set forth by the Special Counsel. Although we disagreed with some of the Special Counsel’s legal theories and felt that some of the episodes examined did not amount to obstruction as a matter of law, we accepted the Special Counsel’s legal framework for purposes of our analysis and evaluated the evidence as presented by the Special Counsel in reaching our conclusion. We concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel’s investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

There are several problems with this misleading testimony.  They are as follows:

  1. According to Justice Department Policy, the President could not be charged with a crime so contrary to Barr’s explanation that he had to make a prosecutorial judgment, this statement is false.  No such judgment could be made.
  2. In regards to this statement “But it would not have been appropriate for me simply to release Volume II of the report without making a prosecutorial judgment.” It is not written in the Special Counsel Law that Barr has the right to make such a judgment.
  3. Also in regards to this judgment, never before in the history of the Justice Department has an Attorney General made such a decision because it is inappropriate. It is the purview of the House of Representatives to determine how the evidence in the report is to be used.
  4. Never before in the history of the Special Counsel laws has a report not been turned over to both the House and the Senate simultaneously, complete, unredacted and with all evidence including grand jury testimony. The House and the Senate then conference on the materials that would be redacted before releasing a report to the public.
  5. In this closing statement of Barr’s testimony, “it is vitally important for the Department of Justice to stand apart from the political process and not to become an adjunct of it.” Barr’s release of his 4-page summary prior to releasing the Mueller Report was in direct contravention to this statement. With Barr’s 4-page letter which purposefully misrepresented the findings of the Mueller Report and declaring the President innocent was a blatant political move designed to change the political landscape to favour the President and mitigate the amount of damage, the President would have suffered due to the evidence provided in the Mueller Report.

Barr Summary of the Mueller Report

Proof of Barr’s misrepresentation of the Mueller Report is provided in this March 27, 2019, letter from Mueller to Barr detailing his displeasure with Barr’s misrepresentations.  The letter also urges Barr to release the Report summaries for each of the two volumes.

As the interrogation proceeded, it became obvious that Barr is an asymptomatic carrier of trumpoid fever.  He started calm, cool and collected.  But, his demeanor did not last long as evidenced by the transcripts that are being provided for your convenience with this article.  As the interrogation progressed, he began to, babble, refused to answer questions, his speech became gibberish and in many cases, he just sat there dumbfounded with a look of disbelief and despair on his face as if desiring an antidote for his malady.

In the afternoon session, Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii began here examination of Barr.  Her five minute session was quickly interrupted by Chairman Graham when Barr began to stumble while attempting to answer her questions relative to Barr’s obvious political actions on behalf of Trump.  The video of her session is below.

The following transcripts include sessions from Senators Hirono, Cory Booker and Kamala Harris.  Barr became extremely distressed in his attempts to provide credible answers to questions surrounding Trump, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Barr’s language at a press conference that seems to be an attempt to normalize the immoral and illegal actions detailed In the Mueller Report.

Senator Cory Booker Started with:

“Mr. Barr, as I take a step back at this, I just really think we’re at a very sobering moment in American history that there is a considerable amount going on when you actually take time and read this whole report that shows that we’re sort of at a crossroad and I fear that we’re descending into a new normal that is dangerous for our democracy on a number of levels. And I fear, unfortunately and I hope we have a chance to discuss this, that you’ve not only put your own credibility into question but seem to be giving sanction to behavior through the language you used in that press conference you held, the language used in your summary that stimulated Mueller to write such a strong rebuking letter. I fear that you’re adding normalcy to a point where we should be sounding alarms as opposed to saying that there’s nothing to see here. And so one – this 448 page report that has a deep litany of lies and deceit and misconduct of the President of the United States instructing people to lie and be deceitful, evidence of people trying to cover up behaviour that on its face is morally wrong, whatever the legal standard is. I – I found it number one, by saying that this kind of obstructive conduct was acceptable, not only acceptable but you’re sentence literally saying that the American people should be grateful for it, that is beginning of normalization that I want to explore.”

“But the second thing I want to explore, and we’ll explore this but I want to make my two statements at the top, one that’s problematic and in general the second problem I have is that you seem to be excusing a campaign that literally had hundreds of contacts with a foreign adversary that I think there is a conclusion amongst – a bipartisan conclusion that there was a failure to even report those contacts, that we engaged in behaviors that the folks knew that were wrong that they tried to actively hide. They seemed, seemed to capitalize on this foreign interference. I mean in our country we know it is illegal for a campaign and wrong for a campaign to share polling data with an American super PAC but we have here documented a level of coordination with a foreign adversary sharing polling data.”

“And – and we’re seem to be and your conduct seems to be trying to normalize that behavior and that’s why I think we are in such a serious moment that could – that is eroding the cultures of this democracy and the security of this democracy. So let’s just get into some of this specifically.”

Senator Kamala Harris continued the interrogation of Attorney General Barr:

HARRIS: Thank you Mr. Chairman: Attorney General Barr, has the president or anyone at the White House ever asked or suggested that you open an investigation of anyone?

BARR: I wouldn’t – I wouldn’t …

HARRIS: Yes or no?

BARR: Could you repeat that question?

HARRIS: I will repeat it. Has the president or anyone at the White House ever asked or suggested that you open an investigation of anyone? Yes or no please, sir.

BARR: The president or anybody else?

HARRIS: Seems you’d remember something like that and be able to tell us.

BARR: Yes, but I’m trying to grapple with the word suggest. I mean there have been discussion of – of matters out there that they’ve not asked me open an investigation, but…

HARRIS: Perhaps they’ve suggested?

BARR: I don’t know, I wouldn’t say suggest.

HARRIS: Hinted?

BARR: I don’t know.

HARRIS: Inferred? You don’t know.

The preceding excerpts were taken from the prior listed transcript of Senator Hirono, Booker and Harris’ session.  The following transcript is a continuation of Senator Kamala Harris’ questioning of Attorney General William Barr.

These transcripts of the Barr Senate hearing provide proof of the Attorney General’s loyalties to the President, his dereliction of duty to the office that he holds and of his commission of crimes in support of the president which has led to his own loss of credibility.  It is also proof that Barr rendered a political decision without reviewing the underlying evidence himself.  There couldn’t be clearer proof that he has conspired with the President to dupe the American people, attempted to prevent Congress from doing its duty and helped the President to escape the justice that he deserves.

The behavior of the Republican Senators throughout this hearing has been abominable and not what the American people expect of them.  While a much needed investigation into the coordinated behavior of the Attorney General, the Republican Controlled Senate and the President will never happen while Trump is President, there is hope. Common sense should dictate to them that advise from legendary hero and former Republican President Teddy Roosevelt should be a moral compass for their actions: “Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.”

As long as the Democrats persist in their quest for the truth and everyday Americans like you continue to do their own investigations and read the actual transcripts of the hearings, the truth will never be buried and eventually the rule-of-law will prevail, despite Crime Lord Trump’s Corruption of the Justice Department and his trumpoid fever infestation of the Republican Party and the American body politic.
