Bloomberg Gambit: Biden Loses and Trump’s Oligarchs Win Again

In the world of politics, the true winners are chess masters like Barack Obama and Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR).  Others like Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, hire them.  This is the case with the upcoming 2020 election.  It’s a chess match.  But this year, it’s not between candidates like elections of old.  This match is between the oligarchs and the American people.  Yes!  Oligarchs exist here in America too and not just Russia.  This Democratic primary is not about Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden or any of the other candidates. Moreover, it is about the super-wealthy maintaining their control of the American government.  It’s about them continuing to rob the American treasury, overburden the American people and their plans to enslave the generations of people to come.  That form of slavery is covert, not overt, making it hard to detect.  It takes the form of economic chains as evidenced by the income and wealth disparities between the super-wealthy and the rest of Americans.  These chains are far more insidious, dangerous and enslaving than the physical chains used against Africans upon whose backs this country was built.  The chains do not target ethnicities or races.  They are not institutions of racism.  They are the tools of tyranny that have gone unchecked around the world and have finally made their way to our shores.  Hence, the need for the destruction of the Democratic Party of old, using an old, tried-and-true, subversive, political tool.  It’s time for the American people to understand the game aka chess match. In the “Bloomberg Gambit: Biden Loses and Trump’s Oligarchs Win Again.” This brings America one step closer to becoming non-existent as s democratic republic. Yes, “the land of the free and the home of the brave” is facing an existential threat from the 2020 election.

Just what is this political chess match that may unfold before our very eyes and its historical ramifications?  What is the Bloomberg Gambit and who enjoys it?  If you venture down this amazing rabbit hole, people will brand you a conspiracy theorist, a nut-job and maybe even a looney-tune.  But let’s examine the facts and you can draw your own conclusion.

Fact 1 – Statistical Data

In a February 16th PBS Marist Poll among Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents, 63% believe that Joe Biden has the best chance of beating Donald Trump as opposed to just 33% for Bernie Sanders.  Also, 70% believe that Michael Bloomberg would beat Trump.  When asked about Trump’s job performance, 40% strongly disapprove of his performance while only 29% strongly approve of his job performance.  When queried if the country is heading in the wrong direction, 55% of all voters say it is and 57% of Independents agree.

Who can beat Trump

The same poll collected data on how Americans view socialism.  The data is outstanding and provides evidence that if Bernie Sanders were the Democratic candidate, Trump would win the election.  The data shows, 33% of Democrats, 89% of Republicans and 64% of Independents view Socialism as being negative.

More voters identify as Independent than Democrats.  Neither Republicans nor Democrats will win an election without the help of independents.

When asked what are the most important problems facing America, again Independents sided more with Democrats than Republicans?  Also, the same poll found that 50% of Independents believed that Trump should have been impeached and removed from office.

Upon reviewing all the data, the results show that Biden stands a better chance at beating Trump than Sanders, American’s don’t want socialism, disapprove of Trump as president, think the nation is heading in the wrong direction and independents agree with Democrats on what the most important issues facing the country are.  These positions held by most independents are moderate positions.  They are not radical positions held by either the left or the right. They are positions held by Amy Klobuchar and Joe Biden, the moderate wing of the Democratic Party.  So, to oligarchs desiring to maintain the Trump status quo, Sanders is the best candidate to accomplish that feat and Biden is the biggest threat.  The best way to neutralize a political threat is to reduce the number of supporters and financial contributions needed to campaign and deliver the message.  A wolf in sheep’s clothing is the best and most unsuspecting way to do that. If Bloomberg is that wolf, then the Bloomberg gambit is now on the chessboard.

Fact 2 – Michael Bloomberg is a Republican

On Sunday, November 24, 2019, Michael Bloomberg announced that he was entering the Democratic presidential race.  Since then, he has spent more than $450 million dollars on campaign advertising which includes broadcast television, cable TV and internet sources like Facebook.  He has not spent any time developing a ground game or physically campaigning in any state.  They have focused his entire campaign on spending hundreds of millions of his personal money on an election campaign doomed to fail at winning the democratic nomination.  However, he has been very successful in taking support from moderate candidates such as Joe Biden and Amy Klobuchar.    Michael Bloomberg is hurting Joe Biden and other moderates on the ticket by campaigning as a moderate and the alternative to Biden and Klobuchar.

Just who is Michael Bloomberg, the man who seems to be supported by Barack Obama and his close friend according to his TV ads?  Michael Bloomberg is a died-in-the-wool republican. Bloomberg ran for Mayor of New York as a Republican.  In a 2003 speech before the Republican national convention, Bloomberg touted the Republican Party as the way of the future and he called for the re-election of George W. Bush.

Bloomberg is good friends with and believes in the Koch Brothers’ political ideology.

Under Bloomberg’s administration as mayor of New York City, it violated the civil rights of over five million African Americans under his stop and frisk program.  On June 28, 2013, Bloomberg stated in a radio interview that under stop and frisk, “proportionately, whites were stopped too much and they stopped blacks too little.”  The program ended when the Obama administration sent Joe Biden and a team of administrators to put the squeeze on Bloomberg.

Is this the behavior of a Democrat or someone that believes in and promotes racial equality? How can this candidate expect to be the face of the party that is America’s conscious, on issues of women’s, gay and equal rights?  He can never get enough support from people of color to be successful.  But what he has done and will continue to do is create division and weaken the moderate candidates.

As a campaign, Bloomberg’s is corrupt because he hasn’t really campaigned, met the common-folk face-to-face or put boots on the ground and worked in the field.  He has only used his enormous wealth to gain influence with political leaders such as Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston that has endorsed him.  He has used ad-campaigns to present a distorted perception of who he really is.  Despite all the ads that seem to present him and Barack Obama as friends, he is still a believer in the Koch political machine and a huge supporter of Republican members of Congress including Senator Lindsey Graham.

Michael Bloomberg is a brilliant businessman.  One must ask the question; If he never gets the core support of the Democratic Party then why is he running? The answer is obvious.  He is a lifelong Republican.  He is against a wealth tax, against reducing student debt, and against free college tuition.  These are positions popular with both moderate and liberal Democrats.  The only plausible answer to the question is the Bloomberg Gambit. A gambit is a device, action, or opening remark, typically one entailing risk, that is calculated to gain an advantage.  The advantage being sought is to place a candidate preaching the politics of revolution rather than reform at the top of the Democratic ticket.  Donald Trump, Russia, and the American oligarchs would rather run against Bernie Sanders than Joe Biden.  In doing so, the status quo is maintained and the threat, to the growing wealth gap in America, is contained.  Trump’s continued attacks on American governmental institutions will move forward, and our great democracy will erode into nothingness.  Why, because it is easier to stop a socialist revolution led by Bernie Sanders than to stop a reformist movement with Joe Biden or Amy Klobuchar leading a coalition of Democrats, Independents and the few old-school Republicans that are left.

Fact 3 – Democratic Socialism will fail

Bernie Sanders is smart, charismatic and very passionate about his belief in democratic socialism.  But the rest of the party leadership understands the risk and does not support his position.  That’s right, no Nancy Pelosi, No Chuck Schumer, and no big money donors support Bernie’s position.  In 2018, the Democrats took back the House.  In 2020, they have their greatest opportunity to take back the Senate since they lost control of it in the middle of Obama’s first term.  If Democrats can understand the fact that they lost control of the Senate because of a liberal agenda and racist, white supremacist rhetoric from the Tea Party, then it should be even easier to understand the obstacles presented by socialism.  Democratic Socialism is tailor-made for defeat.  The coat-tails of Bernie Sanders will prevent the Democrats from retaking the Senate and cost them the House, again giving complete control of the government back to Donald Trump and his Republican minions.

Fact 4 – Voter turnout is suppressed

Bernie Sanders is calling for a revolutionary styled voter turnout to oust Trump from office.  But it will never happen because:

  1. Russians are interfering in the elections
  2. Republican gerrymandering is in high gear
  3. Republican voter suppression involving striking eligible Democratic voters from the poles, closing polling places in minority communities and other illegal actions such as moving polling places to locations outside of city limits have never stopped and will only increase.
  4. The Republican-Controlled Supreme Court has broken long-established precedent and will no longer hear gerrymandering cases thus giving Republicans the green light to use dishonest and unethical tactics in upcoming elections.

The Bloomberg Gambit is brilliant as an election strategy.  It uses a central strategy described in this quote:

“It’s always better to sacrifice your opponent’s men.” – Savielly Tartakower

Joe Biden is the sacrifice that will lead to a Republican victory.  Bernie Sanders is the perfect chef to serve the Joe Biden dish to the Republicans because the Republican Party has gained power through the use of fear-mongering. A Bernie Sanders, democratic socialism candidacy is just what Trump and the Republican Party ordered.  People fear what they do not understand and will maintain the status quo rather than make a leap of faith into the unknown.  The Republicans are branding it as communism and their fear-mongering will prevail.  Democratic socialism under Bernie Sanders will lead to another 4 years of Trumpsim, a dying Democratic party, the death of Obama Care and more divisiveness in the nation.
